Public Health inspectors continue to check for melamine contamination

Following reports by the Thai Food and Drug Administration of high levels of melamine being found in Malaysian manufactured desserts and cheese sandwiches, Chiang Mai Public Health inspectors visited local markets and supermarkets, including the wholesaler Makro’s Hang Dong branch, whose managers stated that they had already returned a quantity of the contaminated products to the manufacturers.
태국 식품의약청은 말레이시아산 디저트와 치즈 샌드위치에서 높은 수치의 멜라닌이 검출되었다고 보고했다. 치앙마이 공공 보건 검열관은 대형유통점 Makro의 Hang Dong 지점을 포함한 지역 시장과 대형매장을 방문했다. Makro의 매니저는 그들이 이미 많은 양의 오염된 상품을 제조자에게 돌려보냈다고 진술했다.

Shops on Charoen Prathet Road were also inspected, due to their proximity to schools, but no contaminated products were found. There is still concern about more than 7 foreign manufactured products with similar brand names and types to the Malaysian products. Shopkeepers who are found to still be stocking the products will be subject to fines and imprisonment according to the law. 
Charoen Prathet Road에 있는 상점들 또한 학교에 인접해있기 때문에 조사를 받았지만 어떤 오염된 상품도 발견되지 않았다. 하지만 그 말레이시아산 상품과 이름과 종류가 비슷한 7개 이상의 외국산 상품이 여전히 의심을 받고 있다. 따라서 그 상품의 재고를 가지고 있는 상점 주인들은 법에 의해 벌금과 구류형을 받을 가능성이 있다.
